Bio Artist Statement

Renee Damiani makes colourful statement jewellery and accessories. Her playful hand dyed plastic tubing and wire creations are filled with fun and quirkiness!

Renee’s original bold statement jewellery is handmade from a combination of plastic tubing and repurposed plastics combined with wire bending techniques all designed and handmade in her studio in Adelaide, South Australia.

Renee's career has spanned over 20 years beginning in 2006 graduating from a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Jewellery Design in Adelaide. Then received a tenancy with a studio at the JamFactory and later at Gray St Workshop. In 2007 was a recipient of an Australia Council Mentorship award. Renee's jewellery has been featured and published in Magazines such as Frankie, Oyster, YEN, 1am, and Marie Claire Australia Magazines.
Renee’s work was represented as part of an artist collective with Edition X and Pieces of Eight Gallery Melbourne.

Later on her works expanded into design markets -The Big Design Market , Finders Keepers, The Makers and Shakers, Bowerbird and Adelaide Fringe Festival and Womad Festival.

Taking an interest in teaching she has worked with Carclew for Pom Poms children’s Art Space, and currently as a visiting artist in Schools teaching Workshops.

Today you can find renee in her workshop creating all the goodies in her home studio, with her family and pet cat Steve, surrounded by a little chaos and lots of fun!
